TO RUMINATE ABOUT MY LIFE;

soaking up the sunshine

with 8 comments

We made the most of the beautiful weather yesterday & spent the entire day at Safety Beach playing on Rex aka my wave runner.
I didn’t take many photos because I was too busy having fun out on the water hehe, but here are a couple of shots I took with my ultra wide:

Aperture:f/11 / Exposure time:1/400 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:24mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

Aperture:f/11 / Exposure time:1/400 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:24mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

Aperture:f/10 / Exposure time:1/320 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:24mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

Aperture:f/11 / Exposure time:1/400 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:14mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

Aperture:f/10 / Exposure time:1/320 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:22mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

I like the elongated-ness of this photo;

Aperture:f/11 / Exposure time:1/400 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:18mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

Aperture:f/11 / Exposure time:1/500 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:13mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

Aperture:f/11 / Exposure time:1/640 sec / ISO speed:200 / Focal length:18mm / Lens:Nikkor 10-24mm AF-S DX G ED

- 8 stitch panorama (click to see bigger version). I know a lot of people would have cropped off the far left side due to the curvature, but I actually really like it. I’m loving this new lens.

Some photos I got off dads point & shoot camera:

  1. Perth beach life…I am so jealous, miss the sun, the water, the sand! Nice captures from what looks like a brilliant day.

    Normally I would mention the horizon being a bit off on your pano hehee, but you already stated that so I am out of a job hehe. It can look quite cool these ultra wide angle pano although they do distort a lot hence if you want a straight pano it needs to be at 35mm or 50mm.

  3. Chloe, first of all, you make a lovely couple!

    Your beaches are just beautiful! The shots are so clear and detailed, even the prints in the sand!

    Good lucky with your venture with your Dad (halves) of another “Rex” or maybe “Roxy”, hehehe!

    Thanks for stopping by!

    P.S. so you almost turn out to be a Christmas baby, and do you get one gift for two occasions? Hahaha,joking!

  4. I love your slice of life shots.

    On Flemming’s comments above, I agree but I think it is also fun to make use of the curvature. That will come with experience, of course!

  5. hi Chloe,
    It looks like you had a great day ! I was down on the peninsula on Saturday as well. The bay/peninsula was looking magical from Arthurs seat around late morning when I was there. I took a shot up there (a quick pan/stitch) that I may post. I went on to meet friends down at portsea where it was actually partially foggy with a cool wind all day ! :|
    cheers :)

  6. Hey Chloe, I am very jealous, believe it or not I had my first go on a jet ski about a month ago and I totally fell in love with it. Good luck with your search for a second one.

  8. That looks like so much fun! The water is so clear. It’s starting to get cold here so thanks for the glimpse of summer.
