TO RUMINATE ABOUT MY LIFE;

sunday stills; black & white with a twist

with 39 comments

This weeks Sunday Stills challenge was black & white with a twist, here’s my take on it.

Reflection;

This is as “macro” as I get without a macro lens;

see the sunday stills B&W challenge talent here!

I’m fast becoming a fan of Sunday Stills & fellow contributors, it’s opening up my eyes to new ideas & every week I have something (photography) to work towards.

  1. Very novel reflection :) loving the clock hand, gives the eye a lot to study. Why does your thumb look so big? :P

  7. Interesting!
    Something about the clock picture makes me feel creepy, but that’s because b&w always gives me sort of a “minor key” feeling.

    I think your “macro as you get” is pretty neat. I can almost see the purple through the b&w!

  8. Wow, you did great. Very original idea and you did a real good job with the conversion. Nice and contrasty. Love the hint of colour you still left in the flower.

  15. I like the clock with its many contrasts, makes me think of Escher’s works. It seems your getting behind time with your filming :-)

  16. I like how the detail, such as the black flecks on the clock face, were picked up so vividly in black and white.

  20. I love the clock face, Chloe; it is almost metaphorical, isn’t it? Emotion is evident in both these photos.

  29. I love the dark feel in the second one. I thought Sunday Stills challenges were posted and completed opn the same day, so I had it all wrong. I’m already thinking of what to do for this week.

    I love square format shooting. It gives you such strong geometry to work with or against. Not lining things up with the center or rule of thirds is a lot more powerful in square in my opinion.

  39. I wish you lived in South Africa, then I could buy prints of these. *grins* Your art would also classify as the first art I’ve ever actually bought (because my money generally goes to computers and books ;)).
    The top one is gorgeous.
