I decided to move away from the ‘norm’ of flower photographs for my first Sunday stills challenge & go with my dried out roses, which hold more memories for me than any of the ones currently growing in the garden.
These are great!
The second one’s my favorite. The colors, the angle, the depth of field … all of them are the best they can be for that subject (at least I think so).
Although the first one is a classic shot done right.
Flowers will fade away but memories will stay … I wonder if you tried just slightly to raise the rose above the window line would it contribute to composition…in landscape photography breaking the horizon with the foreground element often adds to the dynamic of the frame…still there is a great idea behind your photograph
Those are beautiful! Dried flowers are so pretty – they’re hard to touch but they look frail and can fall apart so easily, you know? Anyway, you captured them beautifully, and the first one especially – something about how they’re lying in shadow is just amazing…
AWESOME!!!! I just love all the three snaps. First one is really good!(Good old memories) :D The lighting, the shadows..just perfect! Although I wish there was a bit more light on the face of those roses.
The frame of the third snap is classy. I like the composition of that one! Good work on your Sunday Stills challenge. :D
Nikotin is a local rock band.(but doing great with some original compositions)! The place is classy as you said. I love music and Its a good place to hang out and listen to music. :D The girls are known as ‘CHIC’. They were good too.
The sweetest of memories are held inside the dried stems and petals of the rose!
I fully believe this and have such in my home as well.
Loved your photo’s today!

These photos are beautiful as photographs but I have to say that the flowers as subjects remind me of someone’s creepy old grandma’s house. Wilted petals and old wicker. Shivers down my spine just substitute words. haha. Thanks
The dying roses were sooooooooo AWESOME! I have a metaphor for women compared to roses… They are so much alike because they are so beautiful, they smell amazing, but if you grab ahold of one the wrong way (not in a literal form,LOL) YOU WILL GET THORNED! Don’t be sorry for your brash honesty! It’s one of the qualities I love about you. How’s my life????? Pretty confusing at the moment. School is going great, but other than that everything seems like it’s going to hell. There’s a lot of family issues going on and I’ve been having these horrible nightmares for about a week now. I don’t know if I ever told you about my best friend Spencer or not, but he died of an overdose about 3 years ago, and I’ve been having these horrible dreams about him. Struggling with my addiction issues has never been harder either. I dream for the day that I can go an hour without thinking about using. Sorry to hear about your bro being denied. Take care babe and keep in touch… I PROMISE I WILL TOO…
Wow! I don’t know any of the technical lingo to describe what I like about these photos so I’ll just say that they are just plain wonderful! This was a creative interpretation of the challenge…very nice! :)
I really like the composition of number three here. I have been away, and I need to figure out what this “Sunday stills” thing is all about and get it on it. I am seeing some great work produced for it.
Hey buddy..I was just kidding! LOL!! :D
Just being a part of the fun… :P haha! You are my mate.. You are an inspiration too. Your comments keeps my fire from dying out! Seriously! I’m doing great today! Ofcourse we should pull Antony too. He is BACK! and I’m excited to see his work soon!
Yooo Cool Kids!!! Feeling Great to have you as my mate. Hi5 :D :D
Oi voce! You do not understand the extent to how busy my life has been lately. I think about writing ALMOST everyday and miss it dearly. I also miss the little family community we had going on here. I miss all of your guys’ work dearly too. I just miss art and the freedom is possesses incredibly much. At this time and moment in my life though unfortunately the almighty dollar takes priority even considering taking part in the monetary system contradicts all the bold and strong beliefs I hold. How have you been? How has everyone been? Are the usual’s(Oxy, Shady, Typewriter, Jan) still active?
I still haven’t had the time to experiment with my camera much at all which is very disappointing to the point where it almost hurts inside. I’m too focused right now on my business and collecting mucho dinero!
wow u havnt seen her in months eh?? i think thats the longest shes ever been gone for z: shady or typewriter ever write anymore? my focus lately is business. theyll always be ways to acquire money even during an economic downfall and i think thats the best time to make money while everybodys losin it lol. i got big plans=] when i told my buddy i was to busy to hang out my buddy said “you dont have time you make time” one of these days im going to make some time to write and look at some of your guys work beautiful work cus i miss it ;(

In the older roses, texture stands out. I like the top one, especially.

Flowers are flowers are flowers. I love them dried, fresh, still growing in the dirt, in a vase or how ever I can get them. Great job.
Welcome to Sunday Stills, I’m just a couple weeks old myself.
