burning; life
Friday;
Friday was my dads birthday, my parents had friends & family over; for the now regular Friday nights of drinks, takeaway & pool. There was new bloom of roses & the night was fun.
Saturday;
It’s scary when it records 50°c at your house & there’s fires burning around the entire state. When a suburb 15 minutes from your house is evacuated & the next suburb is on fire watch. Do you start packing your precious belongings, or do you stay(?)
How can you take away the feelings of helplessness when you can see the fire burning from your front door(?)
It is still burning now & is one of the worst fires we’ve experienced here.
Saturday night we (Daniel & our friends) headed to a local pub (daveys) to have a few celebrative drinks (Rolends birthday); it was what we needed after a terrible day to realise we’re sure glad to have each other & our friends. I think I uttered the words “I’m never drinking again” more than twice today.
The smoke that has filled the ‘fresh’ air is causing havoc to my asthma; it’s a constant struggle right now to breathe & my chest is sore.
Today we had daniels grandparents 50th wedding anniversary; it was all too cute to see the surprise on their faces when they arrived to their surprise party. The day was lovely, even with my asthma, head cold & hangover. It’s weekends like these that I really realise I’m happy on a day-to-day basis, now & it feels really good.
(11.21pm; my aunty & uncle who live in Churchhill have decided they are going to stay & defend their house & animals against the fires; I don’t know whether to pray they are going to be okay or scream at them for not getting out of there whilst they can. Also those roses featured above, have died due to the heat & winds of yesterday.) Sunsets are a reflection of the disaster that has unfolded;

Stunning photography – roses captivate nature’s beauty.
I do hope and pray the fire’s are soon controlled and no further fatalities occur.

I like the first rose the best. The background on the others is a little distracting. Your sunset photo is beautiful.

Wow, Chloe, that sounds like a scary situation… There’s something immensely heartbreaking and even more endearing about the photos of those beautiful roses, knowing that they died a bit later because of the fires… Have you read The Little Prince? This somehow reminds me of his rose…
I hope you’re not in any immediate danger by staying where you are. I can sympathize about the asthma thing, btw – it’s awful to deal with on smoggy days…
Photographs are gorgeous, as always.

That last photo is simply gorgeous. Strange how tragedies often produce beauty.
Arhg, it sounds like your last fwe days weren’t all that brilliant. I’ve heard about the fires and stuff on the news (and that the other end of Australia is flooding). Are you guys under any threat where you live or has it mostly been the people around you?
Aww… the aniversary sounds adorable :) Old people are so cute (and I just hope that someone doesnt say that of me one day :P).
Good luck with the asthma. Do you have a nebulizer? I think that those help.
Sorry my reply took ages. I’ve been buried in work and depression again. I’m quite okay now, though and I’m glad to be hearing from you :)

Wow… There’s an ironic since about the fires happeneing because in the pic of the sunset (or sun rise) it looks like the sky is on fire. I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. I’m glad you are ok. It is a shame that we couldn’t work things out, but it’s better this way. Some people just weren’t meant to be…

Hi Cloé,
amazing photos, I am impressed with the burnning sky, i know that things are not popular with so many fires and that heaven is a reflection of this, of all the dust that rises to the atmosphere.

OOOOHHHH MY GOD SWEETIE… I just read a news title on yahoo about the fires over there. I’m so sorry. I had no idea it was that bad. I’m glad you are ok and you’ll be in my thoughts… TAKE CARE AND BE CAREFUL.

The fires are nuts. It’s so sad watching the news at the moment. I can’t believe how close you are to it all. It’s disgustingly hot here also, but we get the sea breeze so I can’t imagine what it’s like there.
I hope everythings is going ok down your way xx
lovely photos by the way, my camera should arrive next week… only half to pay now! :) :)

I know that you have alot going on right now and I’m not sure what kinda music you listen to, but have you heard the song “18 Days” by Saving Abel… or “100 in a 55″ by Pop Evil??? I heard both of them this weekend and thought they were AMAZING!!! You should download them and see if you like them or not. It’s kinda rock, but not heavy metal. YOU JUST HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE WORDS!!! Let me know what you think?!?!?

I’m also sorry to here that your Aunt and Uncle are staying to fight through that. That has to be a horrible expirence. I wish all of you the best of luck and even though I’m very confused about the whole God, Jesus, Purpose, and Religion concept… I’ll pray for your guys…. Keep me updated and let me know everything is OK for time to time.
