With work calling Friday an annual leave day due to the heat being 45°c, I decided to take some photographs the ‘manual’ way on my way over to Daniels house. I took 20 photographs throughout the day, these are the best (7).
Shutter 1/60 sec, ISO 250, f-stop 8 (I think he had ‘passed on’ due to the heat..)
Shutter 1/125 sec, ISO 220, f-stop 5 (x4 magnifying filter)
Shutter 1/80 sec, ISO 400, f-stop 6 (x4 magnifying filter)
Shutter 5 sec, ISO 200, f-stop 10 (driving with one hand probably isn’t recommended)
Shutter 10 sec, ISO 200, f-stop 10 (notice fire burning in the background; not good)
Shutter 1 sec, ISO 200, f-stop 10 (my neighbours)
Shutter 1/60 sec, ISO 800, f-stop 5 (he was on my watertank; x4 magnifying filter)
I’ve ordered my tripod & polarising filter, in the hope of getting out to see some wonderful landscapes & city lights at night.

Great pictures!
45°c It’s too hot!
Where do you live?
PD: I like this picture: “Shutter 1 sec (my neighbours)”

Neat as ever Senorita :) Keep it up…
The scope/range of photography is limited only by one’s imagination!!

these are so cool! my favorite would be the one with the insect where you focus on it alone then the rest of the picture gets blurry. next favorite is the mirror thingie where it’s like windy and so damn cool. i so love your camera. i wonder why you included the spider here though. it’s disturbing.

You take some sweet pictures!
I especially like the one where you’re aiming at the mirror and the background is blurry. Nice contrast, mate.

45C?! Ouch. That must have been oppressive.
The photos are just beautiful. I especially loved the wings and the one of the spider. I’m also extremely fond of mirror shots like the ones you posted! Something about the natural frame of the photo…

Wow… I love the “trade mark” mirror shot and I think the praying mantis is really cool. They are really rare around here and you are lucky to see one a year… I wrote this a minute ago. Let me know if you think it’s a good start…
There’s a portion of my life that’s been taken over by poetry.
It didn’t even ask… It’s just choosen me and devoted me.
When you read the words I write you simply feel and know it’s me.
You don’t need to see my picture… My words absolutely show it’s me.
Is it worth finishing??? I love it but sometimes a writer can get too close to the project and love something that is horrible. Let me know what you think PLEASE…

Two things:
1) Hopefully the fire in the passing distance was not caused by you driving with one hand :)
2) Where the hell did you see that spider? Hopefully not in you or your friend’s house! **the willies shake** (<–not to be confused with… never mind)

Second verse…
I try to express my life writing truth and living openly.
When a good author comes to mind I pray, dream, and hope it’s me.
I’ve spent the majority of my life living sad, hurt, and hopelessly.
Now I’m stronger and can deal with whatever in life is thrown at me.
You still like??? I’m not gonna let you read what I finish it with cause that would take the point of you coming to my site to see it. I just wanted your opinion on if where I was going with it was good or not. I picked you because I trust your judgement…

lol, another spider I see. The sky is such a light blue there. Interesting.
My favourite is the second with the gorgeous detail in the wing :) I guess I’ve always wanted to fly :P.

The silhouetted shot was on film rated for ISO 400, but I metered and shot it at 800 (one stop underexposed, the same as setting your exposure comp to -1 or metering to the -1 in manual). However, negative film in general and black and white film especially has a lot more room to “play” with exposure (usually called exposure latitude, and a direct function of its greater dynamic range), so shooting one stop under and developing longer to bring the scene to “normal” exposure is very common (called “push” processing). You can also “pull” a film by overexposing and developing for a shorter amount of time. Since negative films handle overexposure much better than underexposure, pulling tends to give nice, workable results (often better than the rated speed, which is usually exaggerated anyway), while pushing can be tricky. The head picture from the museum is on the same film shot at 125. The silhouetting is a direct result of her direction to the light- you can see from her shadow that there is a street light in front of her to her left.
I think you have another great motion shot in this group. The contrast between the still image in the mirror and the blur beyond it is really interesting. It does look hot there. Be thankful, most of America is in a cold wave. My weather is currently showing snow today, tomorrow, and Wednesday.

Oh, I forgot to mention that it looks like you are getting great detail and sharpness from those filters, much more than I expected. How do they look at 100%?

Nice photos! Taking pictures on 45°c degrees, such a hot weather that’s the reason why the fire burning. I like the mirror shot: the side is blurry taking on Shutter 10 sec, ISO 200, f-stop 10.

The magnifying filters seems really cool! Nice and sharp details. The second car mirror photo is the best..in which fire is burning in the back.(not good tho). How is your normal weather like?
